Turning inward for a while: during lockdown I’ve returned to the violin and piano medium and made a long (45′) new piece called still here.
still here… a sense of continuity with the past (musical and otherwise), picking up threads from previous pieces stretching back over a decade, Three Trios and Durham.
still here… stillness, presentness, rootedness in time and space.
Premiere by Sophie Appleton (violin) and myself will be online this Autumn; more details to follow.
